John Paull II High School Head Coach Sally Frame of Richardson, TX was named the 2022 Laurie Martin High School Coach of the Year Wednesday, September 21 at the USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association) World Conference in New Orleans, LA.
Frame is an award winning tennis professional who has been contributing to the tennis community for over thirty years as an outstanding coach, teacher, tournament director, creative events programmer and community volunteer.
In her first year as Head Coach at John Paul II HS in Plano, TX, Sally used her magic touch, leadership skills, lots of hard work and connections in the tennis community to elevate the entire tennis program at John Paul II High School in Plano, TX.
To improve the team’s individual and team results Coach Frame immediately beefed up the tournament and match play schedule. Competing in both public school and private school events led to improved individual and team success at District and State.
Coach Frame’s greatest success was dramatically improving the overall tennis experience for players and parents—we all know there is more to a High School tennis program than just results!
A few examples include working with the parents to form an active booster club, weekly coach info blasts, requiring that players practice and play in uniform, meeting with each player to set goals, and emphasizing education and community service. Team spirit was emphasized in practice and during matches. Frame added fun events like the Family Fall Kick-Off, trips to watch college matches, and a holiday party.
