2023 Lloyd Sessions Educational Merit Award

Congratulations to the winner of the 2023 USTA Texas Lloyd Sessions Educational Merit Award, Michael MacVay.

Established in 1973, this award recognizes individuals who put education first as they teach and shape all levels of junior players in Texas. Learn more about this award.

With more than 25 years of coaching experience, Michael MacVay is no stranger to tennis. He is an advocate for youth progression and a believer in meeting each student where they’re at in their developmental journey. Mike creates an environment for each player to cultivate their passion for the sport, and he gives them the tools they need to become “rally ready” at their own pace. 

And although it isn’t the highly coveted Red Ball City Championship trophy, we are excited to add this USTA Texas Award – on its 50th anniversary – to Coach Mike’s résumé.
