2023 Ray Delcastillo Official of the Year Award

If you've been on a tennis court in Texas, chances are you've seen Mike Henry. His family's love of the game spans four generations. So, when he realized there weren't enough tennis officials, he decided to become one. 

15 years later, Mike has multiple officiating certifications and is a designated trainer for new prospective officials. In any given year, Mike will serve as the referee for 35-40 tournaments, another 5-10 as a roving official, plus a handful of UIL and ITA events.

He also gives back as a member of the USTA Texas Officials Committee and Tennis Officials of Austin Association, and he recently helped establish a new local officials association in San Antonio. 

His sense of humor, support of good sportsmanship, and technical knowledge of the game are greatly appreciated by players, parents, providers, and his peers.
