What does receiving this award mean to you?

"Now that Dr. T has passed, only his family can tell you the meaning of their husband and father being selected to receive the 2024 USTA Texas W. T. Caswell Lifetime Service Award.  He would say, 'Not me, I haven't done anything. I love tennis and what we can do for all Texas players no matter their age, physical or cognitive ability.  It is my privilege to have been given the opportunity to be a small part of the total organization.'" – Tina Trevino

Presented at the 2024 Awards Luncheon at the Omni Las Colinas Hotel in Irving on Saturday, Feb. 10th:

Husband. Doctor. Leader.

Dr. Alfredo Trevino Jr., fondly referred to as “Dr. T,” was the epitome of lifetime service. His contributions to tennis in his hometown of Laredo and across Texas are undeniable. He served as the first Hispanic president of USTA Texas from 2011 to 2012. Along with his wife Tina, Dr. Trevino was a foundational figure in building the Laredo Tennis Association and helping shape it into a thriving, diverse, and inclusive tennis community.

Dr. Trevino’s kindness, good humor, and enthusiasm were unmatched, and his commitment to opening the game to more players of all ethnicities, backgrounds and abilities continues to inspire. While Dr. T is honored with this award posthumously, his legacy is more alive than ever.
