Texans at the 2026 Australian Open
The 2026 Australian Open is underway in Melbourne and once again Texas tennis is well represented on one of the sport’s biggest stages.
Several players with ties to the Lone Star State earned spots in the main draw. Former Baylor standout Jenson Brooksby headlines the Texas contingent in men’s singles, joined by Patrick Kypson (Texas A&M), Cam Norrie (TCU), Arthur Rinderknech (Texas A&M), and former Texas Longhorn Eliot Spizzirri. On the women’s side, former Longhorn and NCAA champion Peyton Stearns returns to Grand Slam action alongside Dallas native Ashlyn Krueger.
Texas-connected players also extend beyond U.S. borders. Lulu Sun (Texas), Jacob Fearnley (TCU), and Leolia Jeanjean (Baylor), all with collegiate ties to Texas programs, are part of the main draw, further emphasizing the global reach of college tennis in the state.
The qualifying draw also featured a strong Texas presence. Mary Stoiana (Texas A&M), Mitchell Krueger (Fort Worth), Hady Habib (Texas A&M), Jack Pinnington Jones (TCU), and Carson Branstine (Texas A&M) all competed in qualifying as they looked to secure spots in the main draw at Melbourne Park.
