2023 NJTL Art Contest

USTA Texas is proud to announce the six winners of the Ninth Annual National Junior Tennis and Learning (NJTL) Art Contest of contestants from 5-18 years old.

 

The competition was open to all residents of Texas who were under the age of 18 and active in their local NJTL chapter. This year, students were asked to “Create a work of art depicting how tennis has taught you to work well with others.” Each of the six winners will receive a plaque with a grand prize winner being selected from the winners pool.

 

The six winners of the 2023 USTA Texas NJTL Art Contest were selected in the following categories:

 

Elementary School Girl: Inez Beltran of Dallas Tennis Association
Elementary School Boy: Brandon Murphy of Dallas Tennis Association
Middle School Girl: Elani Evans of Dallas Tennis Association
Middle School Boy: Aaron Lim of Dallas Tennis Association
High School Girl: Giselle Murillo of Tennis Success Inc.
High School Boy: Anthony Jung of Tennis Success Inc.

 

Our grand prize winner this year is 11th Grader Anthony Jung from Tennis Success Inc. (Corpus Christi). In honor of his success, Anthony received four (4) tickets to this year’s U.S. Men’s Clay Court Championship in Houston.

The NJTL Art Contest is an opportunity for participants to express their love for tennis and their growth through the NJTL program in an artistic way. This contest helps participants in preparation for the upcoming USTA Foundation Essay Contest where players use experiences through tennis to tell a story. The NJTL program was established in 1969, with the mission to develop the character of young people through participation in tennis.
