Texans at the 2025 US Open

September 08, 2025

Texas ties are once again strong at the 2025 US Open. Fort Worth native Mitchell Krueger advanced past Santiago Rodriguez Taverna in qualifying and will face Andrea Collarini in his next match. On the women’s side, San Antonio’s Fiona Crawley defeated Louisa Chirico and now takes on No. 4 seed Dalma Gálfi in the second round of qualifying.

Several players with college roots in Texas also made their mark in New York. Patrick Kypson (Texas A&M) fell to Bernard Tomic in men’s qualifying, while fellow Aggie Hady Habib pushed Giulio Zeppieri to three sets before bowing out. Jack Pinnington Jones (TCU) fought through a tight three-set battle but lost to Beibit Zhukayev. In women’s qualifying, Texas A&M’s Mary Stoiana dropped her match against No. 9 seed Saisai Zhang, and former Aggie Carson Branstine fell to No. 31 seed Xinyu Wang.
