Viancos Named Texas Executive Director
USTA Texas (United States Tennis Association) Board of Directors has named Fred Viancos the new Executive Director of USTA Texas.
Viancos’s more than 30 years in the tennis industry will continue to propel USTA Texas as a leader in the tennis and sports industries. USTA Texas president Kevin Collins said “USTA Texas is extremely excited to have Fred as our leader for the future. Fred’s impressive career and talent will serve USTA Texas well, and the fact that he grew up in Texas and is a product of the USTA Texas tennis program makes it even more special to have him on board. Welcome home, Fred!”
When Viancos assumes the role on May 31, he will be responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the organization, working closely with the Board and committees, managing the professional staff and ensuring the fulfillment of the USTA Texas mission: to promote and develop the growth of tennis in Texas.
Viancos said as a Texan and tennis player, the USTA Texas Executive Director position has always interested him.
“There is no greater honor than having the opportunity to lead one of USTA's best sections. I look forward to reconnecting with friends and making a difference for Texas tennis,” he said. “Thank you to the USTA Texas board for their faith in me and I'm extremely excited to join the staff and to continue the great work being done."
Currently, Fred serves as the Chief Operating Officer of the USPTA (United States Professional Tennis Association), where he is responsible for membership, certification and education. Prior to his role as COO, he served as Director of Professional Development. Before joining the USPTA in 1999, Viancos worked at Spalding Worldwide as well as the ATP Tour.
Viancos received a Bachelor of Administration-Finance degree from Texas Christian University where he also played tennis.
