Nott brings a wealth of experience to UTRGV, having previously served as associate head coach at the University of Southern California (USC) for 10 seasons.
During his four seasons at UTRGV, Nott has guided the Vaqueros to significant success. In 2023, the team secured a second-place regular season finish in the Western Athletic Conference (WAC). The Vaqueros’ impressive victories included wins over Grand Canyon, New Mexico State, and Texas State. The team was recognized off the court as well, earning the Academic Team of the Year and Spirited Team of the Year awards, as well as capturing the Vaqueros Cup. UTRGV also won the ITA Texas Region Community Service Team Award and ranked second nationally among Division I programs for community service hours.
Before joining UTRGV, Nott’s tenure at USC was marked by numerous achievements. Under his leadership, the Trojans attained the No. 1 NCAA team ranking and were the top seed at the NCAA Team Championships. The program claimed four PAC-12 team titles, reached two NCAA Final Fours, and saw five players win national individual championships. Several players, including Giuliana Olmos, Kaitlyn Christian, and Sabrina Santamaria, went on to achieve high rankings in professional tennis, with Olmos reaching a career-high WTA ranking of No. 6 in doubles.
As a player, Nott was a standout junior, winning the US National Indoor Junior Singles Championship and being ranked in the top 10 nationally. He went on to play at the University of Florida and Georgia Tech, where he contributed to a national recruiting class ranked second in the country and led Georgia Tech to the ACC team championship final. Nott also represented his country as a Davis Cup player.
With a strong track record of developing talent and fostering academic and athletic success, Nott is set to continue elevating the UTRGV program.
