Community Tennis Manager- Springfield, MO

The Springfield-Greene County Park Board is looking for a dedicated individual to lead its Community Tennis section. In this role, you’ll plan, organize, and oversee tennis programs and facilities while also serving as both an on-court instructor and program manager—offering a unique blend of hands-on teaching and leadership responsibilities.

 

Responsibilities:
  • Leads the development and implementation of curriculum for Cooper Tennis Academy and Community Tennis programs.
  • Facility management of Cooper Tennis Complex. 

  • Works collaboratively with colleagues to design programs and expand community outreach efforts.

  • Recruits, hires, and trains instructional staff.

  • Evaluates classes, providing ongoing training and performance feedback to teaching staff.

  • Facilitates player and parent education sessions, sharing current trends in junior development and offering guidance on tournaments and pathways for growth.

  • Supports budget management, including monitoring revenue and expenses.

  • Organizes and oversees leagues and tournaments within Community Tennis and in partnership with organizations such as USTA, UTR, and ITT.

 

Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates strong financial insight and budgeting expertise.

  • Prior facility management experience. 

  • Proven success in organizing and managing tournaments.

  • Experience leading teams of teaching professionals or tennis athletes in a collaborative, effective manner.

  • Excellent communication skills with players, parents, coaches, and colleagues.

 

  • Highly organized and able to excel in a fast-paced environment.

 

  • Dedicated to expanding the game through innovative programs and community outreach.
