USTA Missouri Valley Play & Competition Coordinator - Full-Time

Coordinate, administer, and enhance the Play & Competition Division within USTA Missouri Valley. This includes managing Adult and Junior programs and tournaments, USTA Leagues, USTA Coaching, and Player Development initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform monthly reporting for Juniors, Adults, and Leagues, utilizing Tableau and Tennislink - Leagues.
  • Manage the Bid Process - including preparing bid information, sending out and managing the contract process, and managing the sanction process for all tournaments (reviewing setup, homepage).
  • Create and update Tournament/Event Schedules (Junior, Adult, Leagues), covering Adults (tournaments + leagues) and Juniors (tournaments + JTT).
  • Prepare materials before events - League Section Championships, JTT, TOC
  • Coordinate communication to the Leagues, Adults, and Sanction and Scheduling committees.
  • Manage and collect data for Adult Tournament initiatives.
  • Collect and track data for section grants.
  • Perform School Tennis/Community Provider follow-up.
  • Create and maintain a coach database.
  • Coordinate with CECs and host sites before Coach Workshops.
  • Assist with development camp and section camp logistics.
  • Assist and coordinate logistics with Girls Rule the Court sites.
  • Assist with activation logistics.
  • Serve as the On-site Section Point for the League Section Championship Event, as needed
  • Assist with Tennis on Campus (TOC) events.
  • Assist with other events as assigned by the Director.

USTA Missouri Executive Director

USTA Missouri seeks an experienced individual to serve as the district’s Executive Director (ED). Applicants will be evaluated on a rolling basis and the position will remain open until filled by a suitable candidate. The first date of employment is March 1, 2026 or another date agreed on by the board of directors.

 

Job duties:
  • Serves as chief operating officer of the district
  • Manages all district staff including hiring, training, and conducting regular performance evaluations
  • Handles district finances and tax filings (with the assistance of the finance director and/or district treasurer) including payroll and other expenditures
  • Provides notice of meetings and agendas (with the assistance of the board of directors)
  • Sanctions and supervises tournaments and tournament directors
  • Prepares annual reports
  • Oversees district committees
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the board of directors

Qualifications:
  • A bachelor’s degree or at least five years of relevant work experience
  • Experience in tennis – administration, coaching, competitive play, or strong familiarity with the sport 
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills 
  • The willingness and ability to represent USTA Missouri at local, district, sectional, and national events
  • The ability to work well with staff and volunteers 
  • Self-motivation and strong initiative to create and expand the role 
  • Excellent organizational skills 
  • Strategic vision 
  • Proficient computer skills (TennisLink, Serve Tennis, Gmail, Google Workspace, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint) 
  • Proficiency with website platforms and social media (Instagram, Facebook) 
  • Experience in financial management, including developing and implementing budgets 
  • Familiarity with local, regional, and national USTA League rules and regulations
  • Ability to mediate, negotiate, and resolve conflicts
  • Flexible schedule with evening/weekend availability
  • Professional demeanor
  • Safe Play certification or ability to obtain Safe Play certification
