Current Career Opportunities

USTA Iowa Junior Team Tennis (JTT) Coordinator

 

Position Summary:

USTA Iowa is seeking a JTT coordinator to work with local tennis providers throughout the district to promote junior team play. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Promote/advertise USTA Junior Team Tennis in the district in cooperative efforts with USTA district staff, section staff and local coordinators.

  • Work with the district staff and board to establish the characteristics of the league parameters including dates, seasons, age, divisions and program fees.

  • Create a district structure for USTA Junior Team Tennis

  • Connect the dots between USTA Team Challenges, Junior Team Tennis and Junior Circuit programs

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from an accredited college or university; two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Completion of USTA’s Safe Play required

  • Understanding of the USTA Missouri Valley structure, a plus

  • Passion for working with youth and recreation sports

  • Commitment to the philosophy of USTA Junior Team Tennis

USTA Missouri Social Media and Communications Specialist

Location: Anywhere within USTA Missouri

Time Commitment: Part-Time

 

Position Summary:

The social media and communications specialist will oversee social media platforms and general communication on these platforms, create media for distribution on these platforms and in other locations (e.g., tennis facilities), and assist in other forms of communication within the district.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Maintain social media platforms using USTA section and national content as well as content created for/by the district
  • Design social media posts to increase participation in district leagues and events
  • Create and distribute fliers for district leagues and events
  • Attend and report on district leagues and events (e.g., take pictures)
  • Increase communication among district members (e.g., maintain contact lists by area, playing level, etc.)
  • Collaborate with district leadership and attend monthly update meetings
  • Suggest avenues for outreach across the district

 

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Expertise in multiple social media platforms
  • Familiarity with online marketing strategies
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Proficiency with graphic design and/or photo editing software
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Photography skills
  • Interest/experience in tennis

 

Compensation: $50/month. Additional compensation may be offered.

USTA Missouri Valley employs a team of part-time Digital Assistant contractors to assist USTA Missouri Valley in its mission to promote and develop the growth of tennis by creating unique content for use on USTA communication channels to reach members and non-members. Digital Assistants are responsible for the creation of content on USTA.com, publications and possibly on district social media channels. Our Digital Assistant team is currently full.
