Job Opening: Junior Varsity (JV) Tennis Coach

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated JV Tennis Coach to contribute to the success and development of our student-athletes.

 

Job Description: The JV Tennis Coach will be responsible for leading and developing the junior varsity tennis team. This role involves planning and conducting practices, coaching during matches, and fostering a positive and challenging environment for student-athletes to improve their tennis skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The coach will work closely with the Head Varsity Coach to ensure alignment with the overall tennis program philosophy and goals.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Help plan, organize, and lead daily practices that focus on skill development, strategy, physical conditioning, and team cohesion.
  • Coach the JV team during all scheduled matches, providing guidance and support.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment.
  • Emphasize sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and academic achievement among student-athletes.
  • Communicate effectively with student-athletes, parents, the Head Varsity Coach, and athletic department staff.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices and competitions.
  • Adhere to all school, district, and league policies and regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Ability to pass a background check, CHSAA Certification for coaching.

 

Compensation: This is a stipend position. Compensation will be competitive and commensurate with experience and district guidelines.

 

Job Opening: Head Coach, Girls' Tennis

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Head Coach for our Girls' Tennis program to lead and inspire our student-athletes.

 

Job Description: The Head Coach of Girls' Tennis will be responsible for the overall leadership, development, and management of the entire girls' tennis program, encompassing both varsity and junior varsity teams. This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive coaching philosophy, planning and conducting practices, coaching during matches, and fostering a positive, challenging, and inclusive environment for student-athletes to excel in tennis, teamwork, and sportsmanship. The Head Coach will also be responsible for program administration, communication with stakeholders, and adherence to all school, district, and league regulations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive coaching philosophy and program vision for the entire girls' tennis program.
  • Plan, organize, and lead effective daily practices for both varsity and junior varsity teams, focusing on skill development, strategy, physical conditioning, and team cohesion.
  • Coach the varsity team during all scheduled matches and oversee the coaching of the junior varsity team.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and disciplined team environment that promotes sportsmanship, ethical conduct, and academic achievement.
  • Recruit and retain student-athletes for the program.
  • Communicate effectively and regularly with student-athletes, parents, assistant coaches, athletic department staff, school administration, and league officials.
  • Mentor and supervise assistant coaches, providing guidance and support for their professional development.
  • Manage the program's budget, equipment inventory, and assist with fundraising efforts.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of all athletes during practices, competitions, and travel.
  • Adhere to all school, district, and league policies, rules, and regulations.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership and program management skills.
  • Deep knowledge of tennis rules, techniques, and strategies.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Current CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and CHSAA Coaches Certification.

 

Preferred:

  • Previous head coaching experience in high school tennis.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop individual player skills and foster strong team dynamics.
  • Experience in program development, team building, and community engagement.
  • Experience with budget management and fundraising.
