2018 USTA Mid-Atlantic Safe Place to Play Grant

The local tennis courts – whether at the public park, nearby school or within the community – are the gathering places for everyday fun, competition, healthy activity and building bonds. These spaces bring together families, friends, coworkers and neighbors no matter their background or ability. To ensure people have well maintained, safe and quality courts for play, the USTA Mid-Atlantic offers grants up to $10,000 to support

  • Basic facility improvements
  • Resurfacing existing courts
  • Conversion of 78' courts to stand-alone 36' courts
  • Lighting
  • New construction or existing facility construction
Review the grant guidelines to understand eligibility and other requirements for this grant program.  Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until November 15, 2018.

Blended Lines

Painting blended lines or converting courts into permanent 36’ courts supports the increased use of the 10 and Under Tennis format and progression for youth programming. If your blended lines project is approved through USTA’s National Facility Assistance Program, the USTA Mid-Atlantic Section will contribute 25 percent of the total cost.

For more information about technical assistance and additional categories of national funding for court renovation and construction, review the USTA National Facility Services information.
