Play Tennis: Senior Int'l Competition

Senior International competition, now named the ITF World Masters Tour, features the top players from across the world competing for their countries in age groups ranging from 35 to 85 and over, for both men and women.  The team competitions are the adult equivalent of the Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup.

ITF World Tennis Masters Tour Dates and Locations 

The ITF Seniors Committee is pleased to communicate the following dates and venues for the 2023 World Team & Individual Championships. 

 

2023 World Team Championships (Age Divisions - 30, 35, 40, 45, 50) 

  • Location: Manavgat, Antalya, Turkey
  • Team Event: Sunday, March 19 - Friday, March 24, 2023
  • Individual Event: Saturday, March 25 - Saturday, April 1, 2023
  • Applications Open: August 19, 2022
  • Application Deadline: Sept. ADVERTISEMENT 19, 2022
  • Players who have applied for consideration will be listed on the Preliminary Applicant List posted on USTA.com: September 23 
  • Deadline to notify the USTA of any omissions to the posted Preliminary Applicant List  (cutoff for 36-month period for which to consider results): September 27 
  • Team selection posted to USTA.com and players will be notified of their status: November 4 
  • All paperwork (excluding travel itinerary) due to USTA staff (including player agreement, media packet, copy of passport, & IPIN): January 15
  • Players may make their travel arrangements: January 15
  • Travel arrangements due to staff: March 1

2023 World Team Championships (Age Divisions - 55, 60)

  • Location: Lisbon, Oeiras and Estoril, Portugal
  • Team Event: Sunday, Aug. 13 - Friday, Aug. 18, 2023 Revised Dates
  • Individual Event: Saturday, Aug. 19 - Saturday, Aug. 26, 2023 Revised Dates
  • Applications Open: Feb. 1, 2023
  • Application Deadline: March 1, 2023
  • Players who have applied for consideration will be listed on the Preliminary Applicant List posted on USTA.com: March 3 
  • Deadline to notify the USTA of any omissions to the posted Preliminary Applicant List  (cutoff for 36-month period for which to consider results): March 7
  • Team selection posted to USTA.com and players will be notified of their status: April 10
  • All paperwork (excluding travel itinerary) due to USTA staff (including player agreement, media packet, copy of passport, & IPIN): May 10
  • Players may make their travel arrangements: June 10

  • Team Event: Sunday, Oct. 8 - Friday, Oct. 13, 2023
  • Individual Event: Saturday, Oct. 14 - Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023
  • Applications Open:  April 3, 2023
  • Application Deadline: May 3, 2023
  • Players who have applied for consideration will be listed on the Preliminary Applicant List posted on USTA.com: May 6 
  • Deadline to notify the USTA of any omissions to the posted Preliminary Applicant List  (cutoff for 36-month period for which to consider results): May 10 
  • Team selection posted to USTA.com and players will be notified of their status: June 15 - Players, please note the new date.
  • All paperwork (excluding travel itinerary) due to USTA staff (including player agreement, media packet, copy of passport, & IPIN): July 15

Due to COVID-19, the USTA Board of Directors approved the following changes to the Senior International Selection Guidelines on Dec. 4, 2020.

  • The revision of Selection Guideline #7 referring to the participation requirements for World Championships Senior International Selection.
  • Changing the minimum of one USTA Level One National Championships to no minimum
  • Changing player records considered from 24 months to 36 months

Please note that the USTA continues to monitor and evaluate the feasibility of the above-listed events occurring in light of the impacts of COVID-19, and/or sending any team to any of the above-listed events. We are working with our Medical Advisory Group, and other professionals, and reserve the right at the USTA’s sole discretion to postpone, cancel, and/or not participate in any of the above-listed events. Further, should players travel to and/or participate in any of the above-listed events, each player shall adhere to all International, State, Federal, and local laws, safety protocols, security measures, and execution of waivers and releases reflecting the same.
