WEATHER UPDATES - Will be sent out via text through Match Tennis Team App

Our Section Championship player registration model has changed. Following USTA National and other Sections' lead, USTA-PNW will now use individual registrations. Although we have always tried to keep expenses low, our costs have increased significantly due to several factors. The deadline to add players to the roster has been extended to the event's last day, allowing more flexibility for Captains.

Player Registration: Click Here All players must register individually. The registration cost is $48. (Minimum Players (6) Due April 28, 2023 - Registration Closed July 16, 2023)

If teams do not register the minimum number of players by the deadline, the next team on the wildcard chart will be invited to participate as a replacement.

2023 Sportsmanship Nomination

Mixed 18 & Over 2023 Section Champions

6.0 Mixed - Eastside Tennis Center-Sun (NWW)

7.0 Mixed - Tualatin Hills-Pham (N OR)

8.0 Mixed - Alaska Club-East-Abe (AK)

9.0 Mixed - Vancouver Tennis Club-Schweitz (N OR)

10.0 Mixed - Amy Yee Tennis Center-Tais (NWW)

  • Kerry was nominated by Kenya- “Kerry was such a great sport. It was such dreadful heat and everyone on court looked like they didn't want to be there anymore but Kerry was upbeat and friendly the whole time and maintained good sportsmanship. Even when there were disputes about the rules or the score, we were quickly able settle to an agreement respectfully and continue playing. When my partner took a medical timeout to bandage her foot, Kerry and her partner came over with their own medical kits to help her out with their own bandages since we didn't have much time. Overall contributed to a very pleasant experience at Sectionals. Thank you Kerry, it was a pleasure playing with you! :)”

  • Phu was nominated by Huy- “I'm nominating Phu for good sportsmanship and his teammates that I'm unable to list all their names. The AK team went above and beyond to get my teammate Jennifer her AK Starbucks coffee mug collection. Since COVID, she had a hard time taking the trip to AK to add to her collection. The AK team tried multiple Starbucks and eventually got the one she wanted. We exchanged gifts on the day both of our teams played each other in 7.0 and 8.0. Amazing matches from both sides with great sportsmanship all around during the matches. Despite AK didn't advance, they stayed to watch the finals and watch my 7.0 take on the championship.  Portland hopes to see the AK team more in future Sectionals!”

  • Renxuan was nominated by Jennifer - “Ren was very courteous the entire match. Always complimented good points and apologized for inconveniences. When the match was over we shook hands and started to part ways - my partner was very emotional and teared up a little since this was his very first match back from a ruptured achilles. Ren was concerned something had happened so he made his way back to us and I explained the situation, to which Ren gave my partner a big comforting hug, saying that was amazing.”
