Roanoke Valley Tennis Association and USTA Mid-Atlantic introduce Second Serve
With the support of USTA Mid-Atlantic, the Roanoke Valley Tennis Association will host Second Serve, a highly social team competition that has the look of a league championship but with a fun, low-pressure environment. Now, with Second Serve, you and your teammates' league season does not have to end! Think of it as an additional opportunity to play with your friends and compete against players from across the region.
This social, fun and "get away" style team tournament event is for those teams that competed in local leagues but did not advance to a Mid-Atlantic Adult League Section Championship and will take place throughout the Roanoke Valley at local tennis facilities. ADVERTISEMENT First dibs go to teams that did not qualify for a League Regional Championship. Space is limited.
Teams from the Adult 18 & Over women's leagues at 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 NTRP levels are eligible to participate in Second Serve. Play will count toward your NTRP rating, but there is no advancement.
Need a few extra players? At Second Serve you can have players who didn't compete in the local league season complete your team. This opportunity allows for you to add new friends to your team if they missed out on the local league season.
When: August 10 - 12, 2018
Where: Roanoke, Va.
Cost: $40 per person; Proceeds will go to support the growth of community tennis and local programs in the Roanoke Valley.
Want to play in Second Serve? Complete the Second Serve team interest form.
