Junior Team Tennis
Junior Team Tennis is the largest team tennis program in the United States. It is a "traditional" team tennis format where a minimum of three boys and three girls form a team based on Junior NTRP Ratings and compete for the right to advance to the National Championships. Leagues are available in the following categories: 14U Intermediate, 14U Advanced (3.5+ JNTRP), 18U Intermediate and 18U Advanced (3.5+ JNTRP).ADVERTISEMENT
Match formats consist of one set of boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles and mixed doubles and the match is determined by total-games won. There are minimum match requirements and you must compete in an Area championship in order to play at Section championships, and possibly the National championship.
Players must be a USTA Member to participate in Junior Team Tennis.
World Team Tennis
In addition to traditional Junior Team Tennis, USTA Northern is offering World Team Tennis. All you need are two courts, two girls, two boys and 90 minutes for this fast-paced format played at any level. Leagues are available in the following categories: 12U Beginner (Orange Ball, 60-ft. court), 12U Intermediate (Green Ball), 12U Advanced (Green Ball), 14U Beginner (Green Ball), 14U Intermediate (Yellow Ball), 18U Beginner (Green Ball), 18U Intermediate (Yellow Ball).
Match formats consist of one set of boys singles, girls singles, boys doubles, girls doubles and mixed doubles. Susbstitutions are allowed with overtime and power-up points. There are no individual match requirements and organizers do not have to use TennisLink. Teams will be invited to play in a non-advancing Section championship at the end of the season.
Players do not have to be a USTA member and will receive a T-shirt as part of their World Team Tennis registration.
