Caribbean Junior Tournament Pathway

The new junior tournament structure is made up by seven levels of events, ranging from Level 7 to Level 1 (National Championships), as well as a national ranking system that will distribute points consistently across all sections. Level 1-3 are tournaments sanctioned by the USTA National Office. Here, we present the description of the events by levels 3-7, the non- ranked begginer events and the 10 years and under circuit sanctioned by the Caribbean Section.

Ranked Tournaments by Levels

 

Level 3 Tournaments - Junior Sectionals CLOSED to the Caribbean Section

(2 Events)

  • Seccional Juvenil Rafa Jordán

  • Campeonato Seccional Juvenil

 

Categories 

  • 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U 

  • Singles & Doubles

 

Tournament Qualification

  • The selection of players will be done by ranking from top to bottom.

 

Format

  • "Seeding consolations to round of 16" 

 

Event Duration 

  • 6 days

 

Level 4 Tournaments - Tournaments for high level players

(4 Events)

  • 2 Open Tournaments for other Sections Players
  • 2 Closed Tournaments for Caribbean Section Players 
  • Junior Team Tennis "Advanced"

 

Categories 

  • 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U

  • Singles & Doubles

 

Tournament Qualification

  • The selection of players will be done by ranking from top to bottom.

  • "First Match Consolations"

  • 3 days

 

Level 5 Tournament – High-Intermediate Level Tournaments

(2 Events) + Junior Team Tennis "Intermediate"

  • 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U

  • Singles & Doubles

  • "Modified Seeding"

 

Event Duration 

  • 3 days

 

Level 6 Tournaments - Intermediate Level Tournaments

(2 Events)

 

Categories 

  • 12U, 14U, 16U & 18U

  • Singles

  • Players selection will be done by ranking from bottom to top

  • "Round Robin w/ Playoffs"

 

Event Duration 

  • 3 days

 

Level 7 Tournaments –  Low-Intermediate Level Tournaments (Former Development Tournaments)

(4 Events)

 

Categories 

  •  **12U (green ball), 14U, 16U & 18U

  • Singles

**Anyone with the age and / or endorsed to play yellow ball may participate in this category.

  • Players selection will be done by ranking from bottom to top

  • "Round Robin w/ Playoffs"

Non-Ranked Junior Events

 

Play & Compete Circuit

  • 8U - red ball, 10U - orange ball, & 12U - green ball (Level A - Intermediate / Advanced and Level B - Beginner)
