Battle of the Mississippi
IT'S THE BATTLE OF THE MISSISSIPPI!
Three USTA sections - one traveling trophy.
It's the Battle of the Mississippi - a Level 2 Intersectional team tournament with USTA Midwest, USTA Missouri Valley and USTA Northern.
Teams will love playing this unique format - Dominant Duo. One boy and one girl per team will play two gendered singles and one mixed doubles match per round.
Midwest has brought the trophy home since 2021. Who will take the traveling trophy home this year?

Tournament Format
This L2 tournament will be played in the Dominant Duo format
- One boy and one girl per team
- Two gendered singles and one mixed-gender doubles per round
- BG 12: Six teams per section (18 Total)
- Round Robin Groups of 6
- BG 14-18: Eight teams per section (24 Total)
- Round Robin Groups of 6
Scoring Format
Singles: Best of 3 with match tiebreak in lieu of 3rd set
Doubles: 8-game pro set
Eligibility
Selections
Players will be selected based on the most recent National Standings list.
Doubles Pairings
Players will be paired with another player from their section. Players will be assigned a doubles partner based on their NSL in descending order. (Ex: Boy 1 from Northern will play with Girl 1 from Northern and Boy 2 will play with Girl 2)
How to Earn Team Points
Each round won is 1 point towards the Section totals. Points will be calculated between the four age divisions.
