OVERVIEW OF NORCAL JUNIOR LEAGUES
USTA Northern California now offers a NEW dynamic and fun junior tennis product offering named Norcal Junior Leagues.
Norcal Junior Leagues (NJL) provides kids and their friends an opportunity to play recreational tennis. Teams are formed by tennis pros, clubs, programs, and parents grouping players at similar skill levels to play other teams within local proximity.
MATCH TYPES, FORMATS & RULES
NJL is organized into an easy, yet fun, series of singles and doubles formats. The rules are simple, and the experience will be unmatched. NJL is organized into Orange Ball, Green Ball, Yellow Ball (Advanced), Yellow Ball (Intermediate) ,and Yellow Ball (High School).

The teams play each other in two distinct match types:
Match #1 - Two-Team Head-to-Head Type
Two teams play each other two times in one week schedule with one home and one away match.

Scores are reported by both team captains to USTA for points credit. No match fee is charged for head-to-head matches; however each team must host a home match and attend an away match within seven calendar days or points will not be awarded.
Match #2 - Four-Team Round Robin Type
Four teams play each other two times in one week schedule with one home and one away match. Scores are reported by both team captains to USTA for points credit. A $50 match fee will be charged for a four-team round robin format. USTA will provide the site and manage the match. Points will be awarded.
At each match type, teams will play a best of two out of three, four game sets with a seven point tiebreak in leiu of a third set at 3-3. Doubles will be a six game pro set with a seven point tiebreak at 5-5.
