Red Ball on Red Clay

May 06, 2019

Inspired by the clay season of the professional tennis circuit, on May 4, 2019, children of 8 years old or less stepped on the red clay courts of the Monticello Training Center in Cidra, PR, to be part of the Red Ball Challenge - French Open Edition.

30 junior tennis players were part of this event, organized by USTA Caribbean, and themed about each one of the Grand Slams of tennis. On each date, children receive a t-shirt and a commemorative medal to collect.

Adapted tennis courts, nets and rackets are used, according to the group age, using the tennis red ball that helps the player serve more easily and maintain a constant rally.

The next event of the Red Ball Challenge will be on grass, at the Palmas Athletic Club in Humacao PR, on August 24, 2019.
