The USTA announced the selection of the Caguas Sport Complex in Puerto Rico among the winners of the 2019 USTA Facility Award, recognizing the excellence of its construction, as well as the positive impact it has on the community through its services.

 

Plinio Alfaro, director of La Academia-Sport For All - tennis program that operates in the Caguas Sports Complex - received the award on August 29 in New York City, along with 24 other facilities in the United States, within the line of public facilities of 10 courts or less.

La Academia - Sport for All is characterized by offering sports services under the direction of professionals, with an inclusive approach for the whole community and with tennis activities aimed at kids, youth, adults and wheelchair players. The Municipal Sports Complex of Caguas is its headquarters, which accumulates 39 years of operation and has six outdoor courts, two of "Mini Tennis", for players of eight years or less, and a half-court with a wall for practice.
