2018 USTA Eastern Hall of Fame

April 02, 2018

Saturday, April 28, 2018
New York Athletic Club (NYAC), Manhattan
7:00 p.m. Cocktail Reception
8:00 p.m. Induction Ceremony

Join us for the 31st Annual USTA Eastern Tennis Hall of Fame Celebration to benefit the Junior Tennis Foundation (JTF) Grant and Scholarship Programs.

Since its inception, the JTF has awarded more than $2 million in grants and scholarships for aspiring junior and adaptive players, as well as NJTLs throughout the Eastern Section. The funds raised from this celebratory event will afford many worthy and motivated children with incredible opportunities to attend tennis camps, sectional and national competitions and educational workshops that ultimately cultivate the love and prosperity of our beloved sport.

USTA Eastern and the JTF are thrilled to welcome our 2018 inductees who have played pivotal roles in Eastern’s tennis community:

David Benjamin

With his 26-year tenure as Princeton University’s Varsity Men’s Tennis Coach and four decades leading the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA), Benjamin has been a guiding force and shaper of today’s world of collegiate tennis.

Lloyd Emanuel

A former varsity captain of Columbia University Men’s Tennis Team, Emanuel founded the Eastern Masters Grand Prix Circuit,  establishing a thriving  forum for adult players to continue competing at the highest levels. During his 40 years volunteering in the section, Emanuel served on the USTA Eastern Board of Trustees and built the foundation for the ranking system that we continue to use today.

Robert Kenas
Kenas’s beautiful photography chronicled the Eastern Tennis Association junior circuit and section special events in the 80’s and 90’s. His pictures have been featured in national tennis publications including Tennis Week and World Tennis, as well as daily newspapers like the New York Times and serve as the gold standard for other section photographers to follow.

Nadine Netter Levy
Born in New York City and raised in Scarsdale, New York, Netter is a former tour player and co-captain of USTA Eastern’s Addie Cup.

We welcome all to attend as we recognize the extraordinary careers of these four tennis professionals. Unfortunately, registration for this event has closed.
