The Centennial Photo Challenge
Since 1923, the USTA Mid-Atlantic Foundation’s mission has been to grow tennis and thus create community, build character, and enhance well-being through philanthropic efforts to make tennis available to ALL. As we celebrate the Centennial, USTA Mid-Atlantic is offering The Centennial Photo Challenge, a unique opportunity for tennis enthusiasts to be part of tennis history.
The driving force behind the success of USTA Mid-Atlantic has always been the passionate individuals who make up the vibrant tennis community. Players, coaches, members and fans have all played an instrumental role in shaping the organization's legacy and mission for the next 100 years.
The Centennial Photo Challenge is a call to action for everyone who has been touched by the sport of tennis. Whether you're a seasoned player, a dedicated coach, or a spectator who finds joy in watching the game, USTA Mid-Atlantic wants to hear from you. Share your love for tennis by submitting a photo that encapsulates what makes this sport truly special to you.
The challenge invites participants to be CREATIVE. You can send in a picture of yourself on the court, showcasing your prowess and passion for the game. Or perhaps you'd like to highlight the strong bond between you and your coach, the person who has guided and mentored you on your tennis journey. Coaches can also share their proudest moments as they pass on their knowledge and expertise to the next generation of players.
Beyond personal experiences, the challenge also seeks to honor the people who have made a difference in the tennis community. Whether it's a friend, a family member, or a fellow player, USTA Mid-Atlantic wants to recognize those who have left a lasting impact on the lives of others through their involvement in tennis.
Additionally, the challenge is an opportunity to celebrate the sport's rich history. From vintage wooden racquets to other historical elements of the game, participants are encouraged to share snapshots that pay homage to the past while embracing the future of tennis.
Selected photo entries will have the chance to be featured at the highly anticipated Centennial Gala. This gala, scheduled for December 1st, promises to be a grand celebration of 100 years of tennis excellence.
Entering The Centennial Challenge is hassle-free. Participants can fill out a simple form to submit photos or share photos on social media, tagging USTA Mid-Atlantic social accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter/X: @USTAMidAtlantic) while using these hashtags #midatlanticproud, #100yearsoftennis, and #Centennialoftennis.
