NTRP CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT  ON HORIZON 

On Sept. 28-30 USTA Mid-Atlantic will host the annual Fall NTRP Championships presented by Reston Shirt at the Lake Newport Tennis Courts in Reston, Va. The Mid-Atlantic NTRP Championship gives tennis players the chance to compete against evenly skilled and rated opponents making for great match competition in a tournament setting. This tennis tournament is one of only three held during the year in the Mid-Atlantic region worth 400 points – more than any other tournaments.

Then there is also the chance for a coveted “golden ticket.”  

Win at the tournament – in the 3.0 to 5.0 level divisions – and you’ll be handed your very own “golden ticket” to USTA’s 2019 NTRP National Championships in Naples, Fl. There you’ll represent USTA Mid-Atlantic and play in level-based competition against other tennis players from across the country.

“If someone wants to get a great tournament experience, this is the chance,” said Jeff Fowle, adult tournament manager for USTA Mid-Atlantic Section. “The Fall NTRP Championship has a comfortable atmosphere full of equal competition. Whether you have your sights set on Nationals or not, this is the perfect way for fun competition. ”

All USTA members that have an NTRP Rating are qualified to compete in the tournament. You can also self-rate and compete, however self-rated players are not eligible to qualify for Nationals. Matches will be played on hard court and will be best two of three sets with a third set match tiebreak format. There will be a NTRP Men’s Singles and Doubles 2.5 – 5.0 divisions and a NTRP Women’s Singles and Doubles 2.5 – 4.5 divisions.

The tournament is expected to have more than 100 players from all over the Mid-Atlantic region. The entry fee for singles is $45.10 and $33.00 for doubles – registration ends on September 24 at 11:59 p.m. eastern time. To register, click here.
