USTA MID-ATLANTIC COLLEGE SHOWCASE & INFORMATION SESSION

NOVEMBER 23, 2019

McCormack Nagelsen Tennis Center - College of William and Mary

Thank you to all that were able to join us for a day full of all things Junior Tennis!

This year, we offered two options for registration. There was an option to register for the on-court session or an information session for a chance to listen, learn and ask questions on all things junior tennis.

Registration met capacity for the 2019 College Showcase!

  • On-court session
  • Junior tennis information session

Learn more about the structure of the day below.

On Court Session Registration:

High school sophomores, juniors, and seniors will have the chance to show off their tennis skills to college coaches at the Mid-Atlantic College Showcase. This event will feature educational information on the recruiting process for players and parents, as well as on-court time for coaches to watch players in their element.

The goal of the showcase is to give players interested in collegiate tennis the opportunity to learn about what playing on such a level means while getting the chance to network with coaches that are looking for team players.* Coaches from all collegiate divisions will be represented at the Mid-Atlantic College Showcase.

  • On-court players will complete a player profile to be shared with college coaches in advance of the event;
  • On-court players will receive 50 bonus ranking points added to their most recent tournament ;
  • Learn tips for making the most out of the recruiting and the college selection process;
  • On-court players will be eligible to apply for a wild card into the 2020 Combine at the National Campus in Orlando, Florida. For more information on this opportunity, click here;
  • The information session is included;
  • Networking opportunities;
  • Each registration includes lunch for one player and one guest.

The on-court session is primarily intended for sophomores, juniors, and seniors in high school.

Players will be separated by gender and graduation year and then split into groups of four based on their current UTR rating.  No scores will be recorded; the showcase is for players to demonstrate their skills in-person in front of coaches.

Junior Tennis Information Session:

The junior tennis information session is intended for parents and players to learn more and ask questions. We understand that navigating the world of junior tournaments and the junior tennis pathway can be hard to understand at times. That is why we want to open up the floor for you to ask questions to our expert panelists.

Some topics that will be discussed at this session will be the path to college tennis, how to navigate junior tournaments, and the new and improved pathway to junior tennis.

  • Networking opportunities;
  • Each registration includes lunch for one player and one guest.
