Inaugural Kids Day at the IHSAA Boys Tennis State Finals
On Sat., Oct. 19 USTA Central Indiana hosted an inaugural Kids Day at North Central High School’s Barbara S. Wynne Tennis Center in between matches at the IHSAA Boys Tennis State Finals. This exciting event aimed to bring together young athletes and their families. In doing so, creating a vibrant atmosphere of community and camaraderie to enhance the overall experience for student athletes and their loved ones.
32 kids registered for Kids Day, where USTA Central Indiana and the National Junior Tennis & Learning (NJTL) chapter of Indianapolis organized various fun games and rally stations. For many kids, it was an opportunity to pick up a racquet for the first time and experience the joy of tennis!
Tennis promotes community and teamwork, essential components for Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory's championship win over Center Grove High School.
The Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory boys' tennis team celebrated their first state finals win in more than 50 years! It was a huge victory and the perfect way to cap off a season in which they held the No. 1 ranking throughout.

In a thrilling showdown for the state finals title, Brebeuf faced off against Center Grove, ultimately prevailing victorious with a score of 3-2. Center Grove claimed wins at No. 1 singles with Tyler Lane and at No. 1 doubles with Daksh Patel and Carson Bush. Meanwhile, Brebeuf secured victories at No. 2 singles with Tony Tancredi, No. 3 singles with Owen Birge and No. 2 doubles with Andrew Held and Harry Stutler.
Our Kids Day participants enjoyed excellent match play, community and witnessed an exciting state finals battle. Congratulations to the winners and the finalists of the 2024 IHSAA Boys Tennis State Finals! We hope everyone who attended the tournament and Kids Day had fun and feels inspired to keep playing. We look forward to returning to the courts for our second Kids Day this spring during the IHSAA Girls Tennis State Finals!
