How Indy's newest tennis facility brought together families, neighbors and teams to watch the US Open

From our first-ever watch party to free bubbles out of the cutest, teeniest Prosecco truck, this year's US Open brought a lot of exciting firsts to the USTA Midwest Tennis Center. Stepping through the automatic doors and under the balloon arch, neighbors, league players and mothers and daughters in matching tennis sets were buzzing with energy. Because Taylor Townsend, Coco Gauff, Madison Keys and Taylor Fritz were scheduled to play on the big screen (a giant projector in front of rows of comfy seats) at Indy's newest tennis facility.

For dedicated tennis enthusiasts and hesitant beginners alike, the party brought the unmistakable atmosphere of the 2026 US Open (sub chicken salad sandwiches for caviar chicken nuggets) to Indianapolis. This party had everything—from target practice to Grey Goose® Honey Deuce® cocktail kits, and chances to win free tennis racquets and lessons. So guests could spend an afternoon rallying with friends and family on courts meant to feel like home.

On several TV screens, the tournament streamed for guests to cheer on their favorite pro tennis players. I personally loved the US Open-themed treats, which, for me, were a tennis-ball-shaped cake pop and a "Cloud Nine" dirty soda. But my favorite thing to eat was the Spanish cheese from the Sprig + Plate charcuterie boards.

For adult partygoers, three of the tennis courts were reserved for heart-pumping games and serving drills using Zenniz technology. To complement it, kids had a court where they learned the basics of the game and scored a million prizes!

And now that the party's over, we can't stop thinking about our next chance to get together and celebrate tennis.
