Open Level 5: April 25-26
 

 

Spring into action at our April Open Level 5 tournament. The event takes place across four states, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and Wisconsin, during the last weekend of the month. Registration closes on April 19.

Easter Bowl Results

Check out our Easter Bowl champions and finalists! The prestigious junior competition takes place annually in Indian Wells, Calif. and we had three players take home titles.

ITF World Junior Tennis

Nadia Poznick from our Southeastern Michigan District will represent the United States in qualifying for the 14-and-under International Tennis Federation (ITF) World Junior Tennis tournament for girls. Congrats, Nadia!

Education and Resources

ITA Webinars

USTA and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) have teamed up to offer a college tennis recruiting education webinar series. The next event covers sportsmanship and is next Tuesday on April 14 at 7:00 PM EDT.

Grants Available

You can apply for financial assistance to help you meet your tennis goals! The USTA/Midwest Tennis & Education Foundation grant cycle is open through April 15.

National Tennis Month

Get ready to serve up some fun! Next month is National Tennis Month. You can be a part of the nationwide celebration by signing up for a free or low-cost event near you. These are casual events on local courts and unique playscapes—baseball stadiums, flower markets, you name it.

Upcoming Tournaments

Open Level 5: March 28-29

Ace the competition at our Open Level 5 tournaments for Boys 12s and 16s and Girls 12s and 16s. The events take place the final weekend of March, but make sure to register before March 22. Each age division has four locations to choose from so that players have a chance to compete a little closer to home. If the event closest to you is full, feel free to check out the other sites. Please keep in mind that players can only be signed up for one division at a time per our Dual Entry Policy.

Extra Level 5 Opportunities

One tournament not enough? All age divisions will have the opportunity to play in extra Level 5 tournaments in March and April. Discover what's available and sign up to play!

Brewer Team Cup Results

Some of the very best junior players from all over the U.S. were invited to Tucson, Ariz. and Mobile, Ala. for the 2026 Brewer Team Cup. Here are our winners and finalists from the USTA Midwest Section: Mia Lurigio, Nicole Zhang, Maksim Hristov and Lucia Zhang. Congratulations!

According to an independent study, more and more people are playing tennis; 27.3 million across the country and 3.6 million from the Midwest.

The February Open Level 5 tournament is just around the corner. Competition takes place Feb. 21-22, and registration closes Sunday, Feb. 15.

Closed Level 4: March 7-9

For our Winter Closed Level 4 tournament, the boys and girls 12s divisions will take place the first weekend of March. Registration closes on Thursday, Feb. 26. Don't miss your chance to compete!

Open Level 5: March 7-8

The boys and girls 14s and 18s Open Level 5 tournament will be held the first weekend of March. Registration closes Sunday, March 1. Each age division will be hosted at four locations across the section. Participants are encouraged to register for the site closest to them. If that event is full, feel free to check out any of the other locations. Please keep in mind that players can still only be signed up for one division at a time per our Dual Entry Policy.

Our Open Level 5 tournaments are already in full swing for 2026! The boys' and girls' 14s and 18s divisions are happening this weekend, while the boys' and girls' 12s and 16s divisions are coming up on Jan. 24-25. Each age division will be held at four locations across the section, so try to find the tournament closest to you! If that event is full, feel free to check out any of the other locations. Please keep in mind that players can still only be signed up for one division at a time per our Dual Entry Policy.

 

Closed Level 3: Jan. 17-19

Show off that new serve you have been practicing over winter break by playing in our first Closed Level 3 of the year! The tournament takes place Jan. 17-19, but you need to register by Jan. 8.

Orange Bowl Results

Holiday spirit + championship energy = Orange Bowl magic 🍊✨ Congratulations to Evan Fan, from our Ohio Valley district, who was a B12s doubles champion and singles finalist, and Marcel Latak, from our Chicago district, who was a B18s doubles finalist at the Orange Bowl.

 

USTA National Winter Championships Results

Congrats to our players who made their mark this winter!   

Priyanka and Pallavi Tallamraju from our Northern Indiana district were finalists in the G16s doubles division and Meher Rao from our Ohio Valley district secured third place in the G16s doubles division.

Also pictured is Natalia Martinez from our Wisconsin district who secured a spot as a quarterfinalist in the G14s singles and doubles division.
