Top American juniors to compete in junior world team event qualifying
Twelve top American juniors have been nominated to represent the U.S. in Qualifying for the world’s premier boys’ and girls’ team competitions – the 16-and-under Junior Davis Cup and Billie Jean King Cup by Gainbridge and the 14-and-under ITF World Junior Tennis. Qualifying for all four events will be played April 15-17 on indoor hard courts inside IGA Stadium in Montreal, Canada.
The Qualifying rounds consist of three days of round-robin play, with each matchup consisting of two singles matches and one doubles match. The top two countries from each four-country pool will advance to the event finals later this year.
The U.S. enters this year’s competitions as the reigning champions in three of the four categories– Junior Billie Jean King Cup, Junior Davis Cup and World Junior Tennis Girls. The U.S. is the four-time reigning champion in Junior Billie Jean King Cup and two-time reigning champion in Junior Davis Cup after becoming the first nation to ever sweep those titles in consecutive years last year.
Overall, the U.S. girls have won 10 Junior Billie Jean King Cup titles (2008, 2012, 2014, 2017-19, 2022-25) and eight World Junior Tennis titles (1992, 2007-10, 2013, 2017, 2025). The U.S. boys have won five Junior Davis Cup titles (1999, 2008, 2014, 2024-25) and seven World Junior Tennis titles (2002-03, 2008, 2012, 2018, 2019, 2024).
