Hall of Fame Inductees; Award Winners Honored
More than 200 people attended the USTA Missouri Valley Annual Conference November 29 to December 1 at the Olathe Conference Center adjacent to the Embassy Suites in Olathe, Kansas. The conference offered a Net Generation Pathway Workshop followed by sessions on parent engagement, and the Positive Coaching Alliance also led a session on coaching and creating positive experiences within the sport.
The opening session featured a a panel on team opportunities at both the junior and adult levels, as well as a panel on the opportunities that exist through partnerships.

The USTA Missouri Valley honored its 2018 USTA Hall of Fame Class during a luncheon on Saturday. Inducted this year were Ken D. Brown, (Wichita, Kansas), the late Fred Johnson (Overland Park, Kansas), and Mark Platt (Enid, Oklahoma), Pat Purcell (St. Louis, Missouri), and Kim Reser (Springfield, Missouri). The five new members of the USTA Missouri Valley Hall of Fame bring the new total number of members to 131. Also honored Saturday were more than 20 USTA Missouri Valley award winners and 10 junior sportsmanship winners.
The conference also included Adult League Coordinator Training, Junior Team Tennis Coordinator Training, and an on-court Net Generation Coaches Workshop.
