Happy Holidays from USTA Heart of America

Rebecca Falkner Axelrod | December 02, 2024

Happy Holidays from USTA Heart of America! This year has definitely flown by. We have had increased participation in adult and junior competition. We had 404 league teams for the 2024 league season! In addition to tremendous growth, 10 teams advanced to the USTA League National Championships.

In addition to hosting a few USTA Missouri Valley junior tournaments, we hosted the 10th 65 & Over Section Championships and the 40 & Over Mixed Section Championships. Kansas City was also home to numerous national tournaments, including Husband & Wife, Men’s 40s and 45s, and Men’s 80s, 85s, 90s and 95s.

In April 2025, USTA Heart of America will host the Heartland Wheelchair Classic at Northland Racquet Club. We also look forward to having another extremely successful National Tennis Month in May.

A huge thank you to you, our wonderful tennis community! None of this would be successful without your involvement and support. In addition to thanking my fellow staff members I would also like to thank our facilities, tennis pros, league coordinators, officials, players and parents. Lastly, a huge thank you to our board president, Tracey Johnson, and our board of directors for their leadership and guidance this year.

I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season.
