Cedar Rapids Duo Wins Adaptive Doubles Section Qualifier
Nathan and Teresa Williams of Cedar Rapids won the USTA Missouri Valley Adaptive Doubles Section Qualifier in August in Lincoln, Neb.
The win earned the duo a spot at the USTA Adaptive Doubles National Championships at the USTA National Campus in Orlando in early November. The Adaptive Doubles Championships pair one adaptive athlete with a unified partner to compete against other duos. USTA Missouri Valley hosts a Section Qualifier every year to send the best adaptive doubles team in the section to Orlando to represent the section at Nationals.
Not only did the win earn Nathan and Teresa a spot at Nationals, it also made some waves back in Cedar Rapids. A local news outlet picked up their story and wrote a feature piece on them. You can read that coverage here.
Nathan is also very active with USTA Iowa off the court. He will be joining the USTA Iowa Board of Directors as Vice President this fall.
We will update this story with more information after Nathan and Teresa compete at Nationals.
