Register for the 2024 Iowa Senior Games
If you’re 50 years of age or older, you can play in this summer’s big event: the Iowa Senior Games. Registration for tennis is open now through May 20. Singles matches will be on Friday, June 7 and doubles as well as mixed doubles will be on Saturday, June 8. Doubles categories are divided into five-year age brackets as follows: 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69 and so on.
“It is a great opportunity to try something new, get physically active and meet a great community of supportive people,” said Tre Stanton of the Iowa Sports Foundation. “Plus, this year is a qualifying year for the National Senior Games in Des Moines in 2025. So, if you place in the top three in your age bracket for your event you can go on to compete in the national event!”
The tennis component of the 2024 Iowa Senior Games takes place on the courts at Valley Southwoods Freshman High School, 625 S. 35th St. in West Des Moines. Players are encouraged to provide a USTA rating to help seed the brackets.
Registration is $35 if completed by May 1 and $40 when completed after that date. The final registration deadline is May 20.
