Happy Holidays From USTA Kansas

Kate Foss | December 22, 2021

Members, volunteers, staff and fans  are the lifeblood of USTA Kansas. Over the last year, you have been alongside us through uncharted times, navigating new safety policies, suspension of league and tournament play. Despite the challenges of the pandemic, tennis has not only survived, but thrived. This year has brought unexpected challenges and we thank you for you effort and commitment to the game of tennis as we adjusted through tough times.

We’ve had many on and off court successes. We’ve seen growth in adult league participation, new league formats, and two new NTRP league levels (2.5 and 5.0).  We’ve returned to hosting League Sectionals. Our nationally recognized Junior Team Tennis program continues to see full brackets for all seasons and we are  excited to see more  growth in the  Youth Pathways program. The new Junior Competitive Pathway was rolled out across the country and we now have one simplified and nationalized the tournament structure. We’ve restarted awarding grants to organizations dedicated to growing the game of tennis. None of these successes happen without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, officials, tournament directors, tennis pros,  fans and parents.

We at USTA Kansas wish you a happy and peaceful holiday season and look forward to a new year full of successes large and small.

See you on the court,

Kate Foss
