JTT Coordinator for USTA Kansas Janet Glaser Checks in With Winter Season Wrap-Up
“We recently completed our six-week winter session of the Junior Team Tennis program on February 12. Due to the facilities available, we were limited to eight teams of two boys/two girls, and we also had approximately six substitute players. The 32 players came from 13 schools in Sterling, Wellington, Ark City, Winfield, Haysville, El Dorado, Maize, Andover, to name a few. Each player played a singles match, a doubles match, and a mixed doubles match every Saturday, and the games won for their team accumulated over the course of the season."
"Our Winter Season winners for 2022 were Team Rafa with 292 total games won. Each player received a $10 gift card to Freddy's Frozen Custard for their big win. Team Rafa is made up of Oakley and Dawson O'Donnell from Ark City, Rylee Frye of Maize, and Annabelle Aldrete of Maize South.
The runner-up was decided on the very last day of play. The Aces ended with 257 total games won and were awarded a $5 Freddy's gift card each for their strong performance. The team included Ella Graham, Charlie Dunn, and Mark Feng, all from Wichita Collegiate, and Annabelle Tantemsomboom from Andover High School.
The gift cards were sponsored by Ms. Kate Foss, USTA Kansas president.”
