Junior Tournament Guidelines
Pre-tournament
Set up club
Remove temporary seating on the courts (players can bring own seats)
Use tape or flat targets to designate traffic flow for entrance, exit, restrooms, tournament desk (arrows)
Use tape or flat targets to ensure social distancing near tournament desk, front counter and restrooms
Remove all score tenders
Provide Hand Sanitizer and disinfectant spray throughout the tennis facility
Post any COVID restrictions that are specific to your facility
Purchase mask, gloves or disinfectant that tournament staff would like to use during tournament
Player communication
Inform players to bring the following items:
A folding chair (for changeovers) and umbrella (shade)
Water and ice (with backup water/personal coolers to refill)
Personal towels
Spectator chair and umbrella (shade)
If a mask is required to enter your clubhouse, please communicate to the players
USTA Kansas requests that only two (2) spectators per player attend the event.
During Tournament
No more than two (2) spectators per player
Player & spectators to enter facility through a clearly marked entrance and separate exit if possible
Capture and retain player contact information in the event that contact tracing becomes necessary
Players may not congregate at tournament desk or at any indoor space. Players should arrive no more than 15 minutes before their match time and exit the facility immediately after reporting the score. No staying, socializing or watching.
Provide 4 balls per court with two different numbers. Players will serve and touch the number specific to him or her. Balls should be sanitized if reused (i.e. Smashers).
Clean restrooms, empty trash and wipe down surfaces including tournament desk hourly
