Summer Junior Team Tennis Leagues are Right Around the Corner–Here’s What You Need to Know

Sydney Hamilton | March 18, 2022

Sign-ups will be opening soon for the 2022 USTA Kansas Junior Team Tennis (JTT) summer leagues, and you don’t want to miss your opportunity to hit the courts. This year, junior players can register for either USTA Local Junior Team Tennis or USTA National Championship Junior Team Tennis–or both! Keep reading to learn more about each opportunity.

USTA Local Junior Team Tennis

This year, USTA Kansas will have teams for 18U Intermediate and Advanced, with match play on June 6, 13, 20, and 27, as well as 10U and 14U Intermediate and Advanced, which will be played June 7, 14, 21, and 28. All matches will be played at Riverside Tennis Center in Wichita. Registration will be opening soon, so keep an eye on this page for the sign-up link.

If you have any questions about registration or about JTT, please contact Janet Glaser, USTA Kansas Junior Team Tennis Coordinator, by calling (316) 655-9988 or emailing janetglaser70@gmail.com.

USTA National Championship Junior Team Tennis

Sign-ups are now open for USTA Missouri Valley Junior Team Tennis Section Qualifiers! This is your opportunity to play for a chance to qualify for the JTT Section Championships in Edmond, OK, where top finishers will earn a spot at the JTT National Championships in Orlando, FL.

To be eligible to play in the JTT Section Championships, USTA Kansas players must compete in at least one match at this year’s Qualifier event; the top two in each division will advance. Teams who go on to take first place in their division at the Section Championships will then qualify for the National Championships.

18U Intermediate and Advanced players who wish to compete must register here to play in the Qualifier, taking place July 6-7 at Riverside Tennis Center in Wichita. 14U Intermediate and Advanced Players, you’ll be playing in your Qualifier event July 7-8, also at Riverside Tennis Center–click here to register.

Please contact Tara Williams by calling (913) 302-5901 or emailing williams@movalley.usta.com with any questions about this year’s Section Qualifier events.

Good luck to all participants this summer!
