Topeka’s Kossover Tennis Center Hosts Adult 40 & Over USTA League Section Championships
It’s been a busy few months for USTA Kansas, with the 65 & Over, 18 & Over, and 55 & Over USTA Missouri Valley League Section Championships recently wrapping up. Now, it’s time we highlight the latest sectional tournament where teams from our district competed for a spot at the National Championships–the Adult 40 & Over League Section Championships!
Kossover Tennis Center, located in the Kansas capital of Topeka, hosted the tournament, with draws for Men’s and Women’s 3.5 and 4.5 league teams. From August 26 through August 28, these teams brought their A-games–and with spots at the National Championship on the line, you can imagine these players left it all on the courts.
USTA Kansas was well-represented by all our 40 & Over teams, and while they're not going to Nationals we couldn’t be prouder of all their hard work, both in-season and postseason. Please join us in congratulating the following teams on their hard-fought wins during the USTA League Section Championships:
Men’s:
3.5: USTA Oklahoma - Kinney/Davis
4.5: USTA Heart of America - Allen
Women’s:
3.5: USTA Heart of America - Vitha
4.5: USTA Iowa - Henry
The Adult 40 & Over 3.5 USTA League National Championships will be held October 7-9 in Scottsdale, AZ. The Adult 40 & Over 4.5 USTA League National Championships will be held October 14-16 in Oklahoma City.
Good luck to all players heading to Nationals! We’re rooting for you!
