Topeka Tennis Association inducts several Hall of Famers

Sydney Hamilton | March 29, 2024

In partnership with Shawnee County Parks + Recreation, the Topeka Tennis Association (TTA) hosted its annual Hall of Fame event on April 12-13 in Topeka. The event honored influential figures in the local tennis community who have made a positive impact on tennis in Topeka and its surrounding areas.

As is customary, Hall of Fame weekend kicked off with a fun and friendly tennis mixer at Genesis Topeka on April 12. Friends and family of the inductees were joined by members of the tennis community and TTA to hit tennis balls, socialize and enjoy light refreshments.

On April 13, TTA hosted the Hall of Fame induction ceremony at Bettis Sports Complex. Light food and drinks were served for the inductees and their loved ones in attendance.

USTA Kansas would like to congratulate the following individuals on their induction into the Hall of Fame:

  • Brandon Joost
  • Cory Buck
  • Shane Johnson
  • Sumeet Patel
  • Trevor Hedberg
  • Drew Hanson
  • Sean McManus
  • Alex O’Neal
  • Mary Stauffer (Brownback)
  • Kent Lammers

Thank you to these individuals and to TTA as well as Shawnee County Parks + Recreation for your positive efforts to advance the game of tennis within USTA Kansas.
