Three Missouri Valley Facilities Earn USTA Awards

September 05, 2019

Three tennis facilities in USTA Missouri Valley have been recognized as winners in the 38th annual USTA Facility Awards. Each year, the USTA recognizes facilities throughout the country to encourage increasingly high standards for construction and/or renovation. Nominations are evaluated on the facility quality, upkeep, and amenities, and the tennis programming offered.

Congratulations to these three facilities who have done great work for tennis in USTA Missouri Valley:

Ames Fitness Center–Ames, Iowa

Ames Fitness Center features a 4-court tennis bubble and a full offering of adult and youth programs, including private lessons and the First Strike Tennis Academy Program. Open court time for tennis and pickleball is also available. Ames Fitness Center, a proud partner of the Universal Tennis Rating system, has hosted many USTA tournaments and also sent many of their academy players out to high-level USTA Junior Tournaments.

The facility’s Tucker Tennis Academy, a progessive pathway for junior players that follows USTA youth tennis guidelines, was named the 2014 USTA Developmental Program of the Year.
