Cornhusker State Games tennis competitions set for July 16-21
It’s that time of year again! Woods Tennis Center in Lincoln will be the host site of the 2024 Cornhusker State Games tennis tournaments. A range of divisions are available for both juniors and adults, and participants must have a USTA membership and rating. The following divisions are open for registration:
Juniors Boys & Girls 12-18 – July 16-18
Juniors Orange & Green – July 19
Adult Mixed Doubles – July 18-20
Adult Singles & Doubles – July 19-21
The Cornhusker State Games started in 1985 and has become a midsummer tradition attracting thousands of Nebraskans to Lincoln from throughout the state.
The main mission of the Cornhusker State Games is offering good, wholesome, family-oriented activities and fun. The organization takes pride in its competition exposing a multitude of Nebraskans to the benefits of physical fitness, well-being and good sportsmanship.
Opening night is July 11 outside of Pinnacle Bank Arena. Husker volleyball player Rebekah Allick and her brother, former Husker basketball player Josiah Allick, are the torch bearers for the event. This is the 40th anniversary of the Cornhusker State Games.

Shortly after the conclusion of the Cornhusker State Games, senior adults will have the opportunity to compete in the 2024 Nebraska Senior Games. The tennis component of the Nebraska Senior Games will take place Aug. 1-3 indoors at the Ernest Grundy Tennis Center in Kearney. Mixed doubles action is slated for Aug. 1, doubles play begins Aug. 2 and singles play is Aug. 3.

Individuals must first participate in a State Senior Games in 2024 to earn qualification for the 2025 National Senior Games, which is slated for July 24 through Aug. 4 within the USTA Missouri Valley in Des Moines, Iowa. To learn more about the 2025 National Senior Games, click here.
