Serving Up Aces Team Challenge

March 16, 2020

First Serve OKC is a NJTL (National Junior Tennis & Learning) program in Oklahoma City.

The program places an emphasis on creating a safe environment for underprivileged youth through the game of tennis all while emphasizing self-discipline, optimism, integrity, teamwork, and gratitude.

One of First Serve’s programs is Serving Up Aces, a school outreach program. The outreach program introduces over 1,000 students per year to tennis and the life skills lessons it teaches. Serving Up Aces partners with OKC Public Schools, Boys and Girls Club, and OKC Indian Clinic.

On March 6, 77 kids from Serving Up Aces went to Oklahoma City Tennis Center for a USTA Team Challenge.

Emmy Tigert, the Executive Director of First Serve OKC, helped lead the fun-filled clinic that Friday night.

Tigert, stated she is “pretty proud of this team of staff and volunteers, and oh my word, gratitude for the support we have to bring tennis to the kids of OKC Public Schools.”
