World-class tennis returns as W100 OK Pro Circuit comes to Edmond Center Court

Some of the world’s most promising professional tennis players will soon have a familiar destination on their schedules. The W100 OK Pro Circuit returns to Edmond Center Court from Oct. 12-18, bringing a level of professional tennis to Oklahoma that would have been difficult to imagine just a few years ago.

For local fans, the USTA Pro Circuit tournament offers a rare opportunity to watch elite women’s players competing for valuable WTA ranking points and, in many cases, players who are already appearing on the sport’s biggest stages.

For David Minihan, general manager of Edmond Center Court, a USTA Premier Facility, the event represents both a milestone for the facility and a reflection of the growth of tennis in Oklahoma.

“To be able to host a W100 and bring players to Edmond who are competing at Grand Slams like the US Open is pretty remarkable,” Minihan said. “It’s also a great opportunity for our Oklahoma community to experience world-class professional tennis right here in Edmond.”

A Path Upward

For those unfamiliar with the professional tennis tournament structure, a W100 is part of the ITF World Tennis Tour, the level immediately below the main WTA Tour.

A W100 tournament offers $100,000 in prize money and significant WTA ranking points. The tournament champion earns 100 WTA points, making the event an important opportunity for players looking to climb the rankings and earn entry into larger WTA tournaments and Grand Slam events.

The level of talent that has passed through Edmond demonstrates just how meaningful those opportunities can be.

Minihan pointed to several former Edmond Open competitors who have gone on to achieve remarkable success, including two former players who have reached the top 15 in the world rankings. Another recent example is Olivia Gadecki, who competed in the Edmond Open in 2025. Gadecki won the Australian Open mixed doubles championship in both 2025 and 2026.

The message is clear: fans in Edmond aren’t simply watching professional tennis players. They’re getting the chance to see future stars before they reach the sport’s biggest stages.

The path to hosting a W100 in Edmond began with a much smaller professional event. In 2023, Martin Blackman, who at the time was the general manager of USTA Player Development, reached out to Edmond Center Court about hosting a $15,000 USTA Pro Circuit event. That initial tournament proved to be the foundation for something much bigger.

A Community Effort

The professional tennis festivities in Edmond begin even before the W100 gets underway.

On Oct. 3, Edmond Center Court will host the OK Pro Series Invitational, a $25,000 non-sanctioned professional event featuring both men and women. The tournament uses a fun, fast-paced format modeled after World Team Tennis, providing a different style of competition while helping launch the professional tennis season in Edmond and Norman.

Rather than simply serving as a warm-up for the W100, the invitational is designed as a celebration of tennis in its own right, bringing players and fans together in an energetic, team-oriented format.

While the W100 will be the centerpiece, tournament week will also feature extensive outreach opportunities for the local tennis community.

Junior and adult players will have opportunities to participate in programs throughout the week, giving recreational and competitive players alike a chance to become part of the experience. For Edmond Center Court, that community connection is an important part of bringing professional tennis to Oklahoma.

The goal isn’t simply to put world-class players on the court. It’s to inspire the next generation of Oklahoma players by allowing them to see what the highest levels of the sport look like up close.
