Through its service to the community, service to its members through junior and adult programs, and service to the game of tennis, Miracle Hill Golf & Tennis Center has been recognized with the USTA Member Organization of the Year Award.
Founded in 1961, Miracle Hill is a community-connected facility in Omaha, Neb., that actively endorses the USTA player pathway and demonstrates its success through a consistent increase in players at all levels each year.
One of the largest providers of play opportunities in the state, Miracle Hill hosts L6, L7, Junior Circuit, USTA League, youth programming and Team Challenge events. The facility also offers free drop-in clinics for individuals looking to try tennis for the first time and is part of the Omaha Interclub scene, providing match play for youth during the summer.
Along with its own events and programs, Miracle Hill engages with the community in various ways, including hosting the University of Nebraska Omaha men’s and women’s tennis teams for practice and matches, with strong support from local players. The pros at Miracle Hill extend their impact by hosting physical education programs in schools across the area and running introductory tennis programs at the Nelson Mandela School in Omaha.
Miracle Hill also provided a free “Community Tennis Day,” benefitting the Lydia House in Omaha.
The USTA Member Organization of the Year Award has been given to deserving winners around the U.S. since 1981.
“Miracle Hill Golf & Tennis has served its community by showing that tennis is an accessible sport for all and providing remarkable programs,” Craig Morris, the USTA's chief executive for community tennis, said. “They are truly living out their mission of promoting tennis as a lifetime sport for all.”
