New England to send four to JTT Nationals
LAKE NONA, FL- New England will send four teams to USTA’s National Campus in Lake Nona, FL for the 2017 Junior Team Tennis (JTT) National Championships. Sippican Tennis Club (14U Advanced), from Marion, MA and MadRackets (14U Intermediate), from Madison Racquet and Swim Club in Madison, CT will compete from September 21-24, while North Shore Legends (18U Advanced), from the Boston area and New Hampshire Rogues (18U Intermediate), from Bedford, NH will play from September 28-October 1.
The Nationals appearance will be the fourth consecutive for MadRackets, the second straight for North Shore Legends, and the first each for Sippican and NH Rogues.
All four teams advanced to Nationals by winning their respective flight at the New England Section Championships in August at Harvard University.

The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. He contacted George Barta of the Canadian senior division, and together, they created the Friendship Cup. In that year, players competed on three courts at the Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Read More
