NEW ENGLAND PLAYERS AND COACHES SELECTED TO TRAIN AT USTA NATIONAL CAMPUS IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA

WESTBOROUGH, MA – USTA New England is pleased to announce that the organization will be sending a team of players with coaches to the USTA National Campus in Orlando, FL to train and play matches in preparation for the USTA Winter National Championships.

 

Five boys and six girls have been chosen along with two coaches to accompany them on the trip. The selected boys are: Mark Sverdlov, Daniel Milavsky, Michael Karr, Derek Shen and Matthew Campbell. The selected girls are: Page Freeman, Lana Mavor, Eleanor Schulson, Sarah Campbell, Lexi Kubas and Iris Gallo. The eleven players will be joined by coaches Eliot Potvin and Danielle Monteith. 

 

This training trip will take place December 20th through 22nd and will give players an opportunity to prepare and acclimate for 16’s and 18’s USTA Winter National Championships which will take place December 27, 2017 through Tuesday, January 2, 2018.

USTA New England is covering the hotel, transportation and lunches for the players and coaches as well as the coaches’ salaries.

 

“The eleven players were selected based on their participation in 16’s or 18’s Winter Nationals and ranking. Most of the players are ranked in the top 150 nationally in their age division. They all have shown a positive work ethic, competitiveness, skill level and attitude in their competitive careers. We are excited to provide them with this opportunity,” said USTA New England Player Development Manager, David Zeutas-Broer.
