Women In Tennis Together

Women In Tennis Together (WITT) is a series of amazing inspirational events for young women who play tennis in New England. For the fourth year in a row, players can participate in one of six tennis events throughout New England. These events provide high-school aged girls with specialized coaching from other women as well as an enrichment session featuring female role models discussing tennis as a pathway to success beyond the court.

WITT events are for female tennis players in high school grades 9-12 who enjoy friendly competition. These events are to celebrate women in our sport. A day at our WITT event will consist of on-court match play, one-on-one coaching, fun games, and an off-court enrichment session. All coaches are Net Generation certified!  The girls who have come out to our events play Junior Team Tennis, play USTA tournaments, or on their high school team.

The players are required to register. The event has a fee of $5.00. This fee includes event admission, healthy snacks, a gift, fun tennis activities, and one FREE ticket to the International Tennis Hall of Fame in Newport, RI on Friday, July 19, 2019!

The Friendship Cup has a rich history and successful story of establishing international camaraderie and sisterhood both on and off the court. The tradition started in 1967 when Walter Foeger of Vermont was looking to establish competitive senior tennis play in alliance with the New England Lawn Tennis Association (NELTA), now USTA New England. He contacted George Barta of the Canadian senior division, and together, they created the Friendship Cup. In that year, players competed on three courts at the Jay Peak Resort in Vermont. Read More
