USTA JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS LOCAL CONNECTICUT STATE LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIPS RESULTS
WEST HAVEN, CT – Eight teams emerged victorious at this year’s USTA Junior Team Tennis Local Connecticut State League Championships from July 20-22 at the Cullman-Heyman Tennis Center at Yale University and East Shore Park in New Haven, CT.
More than 200 kids in eight divisions competed over the rainy weekend for the title of Junior Team Tennis Connecticut State Champion at the local level. The 8 and Under and 10 and Under Divisions competed at East Shore Park in New Haven while the rest of the teams competed at Yale University. The results are below:
Division Champions:
8 and Under: Intensity from Intensity Club in Norwalk, CT
10 and Under Intermediate: Intensity from Intensity Club in Norwalk, CT
10 and Under Advanced: Trumbull from Trumbull Racquet Club in Trumbull, CT
12 and Under Intermediate: Intensity Top Spinners from Intensity Club in Norwalk, CT
12 and Under Advanced: Weston from Weston Racquet Club in Weston, CT
14 and Under Intermediate: Trumbull Tortoises from Trumbull Racquet Club in Trumbull, CT
16 and Under Intermediate: Trumbull from Trumbull Racquet Club in Trumbull, CT
18 and Under Intermediate: Farmington Valley Fun Unlimited from Farmington Valley Racquet Club in Simsbury, CT

“Our local State Championship was an excellent mix of fun and competition. We had a great group of coaches and kids that made for a wonderful tournament. We truly value good sportsmanship within the USTA Junior Team Tennis Program and that really shone through with our eight sportsmanship award winners this year,” said Susan Riordan, USTA New England Tennis Service Representative for Connecticut and Tournament Director.

12 and Under Intermediate: Benjamin Lublinksy (Intensity Club), Andrew Toft (Intensity Club), Jack Newman (Greenwich), Piper Remillard (Guilford Racquet Club)
12 and Under Advanced: Milana Montini from Trumbull Racquet Club
14 and Under Intermediate: Samir Rajani from Milford Indoor Tennis Club
16 and Under Intermediate: Audrey Magnusen from Norwalk Grassroots Tennis
18 and Under Intermediate: Varsha Rathore from The Newington Tennis Center
