Juniors compete in L4 November Singles Championship

WESTBOROUGH, MA- Some of the best juniors in New England showed out at the November L4 Super Six Singles Championships from November 10-11. Matches were played at eight different sites throughout Massachusetts and Connecticut.

 

The East Hartford Racquet Club in Connecticut hosted the Boys’ 18s draws and the Magic Lincer Club of Manchester, CT held the Girls’ 18s matches. Boys’ 18s top seed, Andrew Ilie, defeated Walker Oberg, 6-2, 6-3, to capture the title. On the girls’ side, Alexandra Dewire defeated Nastasya Semenvoski, 1-6, 6-4, 6-4, to win the championship.

 

The Boys’ 16s took place at the Tennis & Fitness Center of Rocky Hill in Connecticut and the Girls’ 16s were held at the Solaris Racquet Club in Stamford, CT. No. 1 seed Teddy Truwit upended Joshua Israel, 6-2, 6-2, to win the Boys’ 16s championship while No. 1 seed Samantha Svendsen defeated No. 3 Amelia Poor, 6-0, 6-1, to capture the Girls’ 16s title.

 

The Lyme Shores Racquet Club in East Lyme, CT hosted the Boys’ 14s matches, and the Weymouth Club in Massachusetts held the Girls’ 14s. No. 4 seedHarrison Collomb took down Petro Kuzmenok, 6-2, 6-3, to nab the Boys’ 14s title and No. 4 Caroline Stuhlfaut defeated Ava Esposito, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4, to win the Girls’ 14s championship.

 

The Boys’ 12s championships were held at the Thoreau Tennis Club in Concord, MA and the Girls’ 12 matches were also held in Massachusetts at the Manchester Athletic Club. The top-seed Cole Oberg overpowered No. 3 Troy Kudrjavstev, 6-1, 6-2, to nab the Boys’ 12s championship. No. 2 seed Sydney Jara defeated No. 3 Lauren Zhang to capture the Girls’ 12s title.
