USTA NEW ENGLAND AND MASSACHUSETTS INTERSCHOLASTIC ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION FORM PARTNERSHIP TO ENHANCE HIGH SCHOOL TENNIS

WESTBOROUGH, MA - USTA New England is proud to announce a new partnership with the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) aimed at bolstering high school tennis programs across the state.

This collaboration signifies a commitment to providing comprehensive tools, resources, and educational opportunities to coaches, administrators and student-athletes, ensuring they have the support they need to succeed both on and off the court.

“USTA New England has tremendous access to resources to offer high school coaches, and we plan to make more of an intentional effort to support them and their players. We understand the importance of high school tennis to student-athletes, and we want to be behind the push to grow the game, especially at this level,” said Shawna Fors, Director, Player Development for USTA New England.

Through the partnership, the MIAA and USTA New England will work together to offer a wide range of valuable resources, including in-person and virtual coach trainings, webinars and networking events. These initiatives will provide coaches and administrators with the latest strategies, techniques and best practices to enhance their coaching abilities and elevate the overall quality of high school tennis programs in Massachusetts.

“We are pleased to partner with USTA New England in supporting MIAA tennis players and coaches. Having the USTA add their resources to benefit our 219 boys’ teams and 238 girls’ teams is a great opportunity for the student-athletes. We look forward to collaborating and strengthening our work together for the growth of high school tennis in Massachusetts,” said Richard Pearson, MIAA Associate Director.

The partnership is also designed to support female coaches in their professional development and will include the creation of an all-women’s coach training and one scholarship provided to the Professional Tennis Registry Women’s Summit.

The MIAA and USTA New England share a commitment to excellence, innovation and community engagement, and by working together, both organizations are poised to elevate the high school tennis experience and inspire the next generation of tennis players in Massachusetts.
